Cosumnes River
 
 
Cosumnes River, c.50 mi/80 km long, central Calif.; formed in W foothills of Sierra Nevada on El Dorado–Amador co. line by joining of its North and South Forks, 35 mi/56 km E of Sacramento; flows SW to Mokelumne R. 5 mi/8 km W of Galt. North Fork c.45 mi/72 km long, South Fork c.25 mi/40 km long; both rise in central El Dorado co., and flow W. Middle Fork c.40 mi/64 km long rises in S central El Dorado co., flows W, joins South Fork 1 mi/1.6 km E of confluence with North Fork.
