| El Sacromonte National Park (el sah-kro-MON-tai), a natl. park, in SE México, Mexico, located on the outskirts of the town of Amecameca. The Shrine of the Sacred Mt. has an excellent view of the 2 volcanoes, Ixtaccíhuatl and Popocatépetl. This small park contains a church built around a cave where a conquistador, Fráy Martín de Valencia, once lived. It is one of Mexicos most venerated religious sites. |
