Claiborne reservoir in center of parish), its Middle Fork, and Corney Bayou (forms Corney L. in NE corner). Oil wells, natural gas. Logging. Agr. (hay, watermelons, nursery crops, grains; cattle, poultry, hogs; dairying). L. Claiborne State Park at SE end, 2 small units of Kisatchie Natl. Forest in NE and N center, part of 3d unit on SW border. Named after the 1st gov. of La. Formed 1828.
