| Back River, industrial suburb, Baltimore co., central Md., 7 mi/11.3 km E of downtown Baltimore, and on navigable Back R., a 12-mi/19-km arm of Chesapeake Bay. A large plant making stainless steel is located here, as well as a sewage disposal plant directly on the river. |
