| Dixville, town, Coos co., N N.H., 27 mi/43 km NNW of Berlin. Drained by Mohawk R. and Clear Stream. Dairying; cattle, poultry. Dixville Notch pass (1,871 ft/570 m), in Dixville Notch State Park, in S center. Balsams-Wilderness Ski Area in S. Every presidential election year, the town has the tradition of being the first to cast its vote, just after midnight, in the N.H. primary in March. Also known as Dixville Notch. |
