Crook, county (2,987 sq mi/7,736 sq km; 1990 pop. 14,111), central Oregon; Prineville; 44°07'N 120°21'W. Drained by Crooked R. Poultry, sheep, cattle; potatoes, wheat, oats, barley. Timber. Mercury. Parts of Ochoco Natl. Forest are in N, center, and SE corner, including Mill Creek Wilderness Area in NW. Ochoco L. and Prineville Reservoir State Parks and Ochoco State Wayside in W. Formed 1882.
