Branched Oak Lake, reservoir, Lancaster co., SE Nebr., on Branched Oak Creek, tributary of Oak Creek, in Branched Oak Lake State Recreation Area, 15 mi/24 km NW of Lincoln; 4 mi/6.4 km long; 40°58'N 96°44'W. Max. capacity 115,000 acre-ft. Formed by Branched Oak Dam (82 ft/25 m high), built by the Army Corps of Engineers for flood control and recreation.
