Hailey, city (1990 pop. 3,687), Blaine co., S central Idaho, on Big Wood R., and c.100 mi/161 km E of Boise; 43°31'N 114°18'W. Elev. 5,342 ft/1,628 m. Trade center for mining (silver, lead) and livestock area; mfg. (printing and publishing); lumber milling. Summer resort, hq. for Sawtooth Natl. Forest (NW and NE). Friedman Memorial Airport. Clarendon Hot Springs to NW. Sawtooth Mts. are N. Inc. as village 1903, as city 1909.
