Etchojoa (e-cho-HO-ah), town (1990 pop. 7,253), Sonora, NW Mexico, in lowland near Gulf of California, on lower Mayo R. (irrigation), and 100 mi/161 km SE of Guaymas; 26°56'N 109°40'W. Agr. center (chickpeas, corn, rice, fruit; livestock).
