| Brûlé Lake, expansion of Athabaska R., W Alta., W Canada, in Rocky Mts., on E edge of Jasper Natl. Park, 26 mi/42 km NNE of Jasper; 8 mi/13 km long, 1 mi/1.6 km wide; elev. 3,228 ft/984 m. Jasper House, Hudson’s Bay Co. trading post, was est. 1799 at outlet of lake; moved 1801 to Jasper L. and abandoned 1875. |
