Corona, city (1990 pop. 76,095), Riverside co., S Calif., suburb 14 mi WSW of Riverside, and 40 mi ESE of downtown Los Angeles; 33°52'N 117°34'W. The city developed as a primary citrus-fruit producer and shipping center. There is also light mfg. (canned foods, plastic prods., wooden prods., pharmaceuticals). The name Corona (circle) was derived from the 3-mi/4.8-km circular drive around the city that was once used for car racing. Corona Municipal Airport in N. Calif.
