| Badlands National Park, park (380 sq mi/984 sq km), SW S.Dak., authorized 1929 as Badlands Natl. Monument, redesignated Badlands Natl. Park in 1978; 43°37'N 102°52'W. Land area more than doubled with S expansion (1968); 100 sq mi/259 sq km of the park has been designated wilderness. Cedar Pass Lodge at E entrance. |
