| Bad Axe River, c.25 mi/40 km long, Vernon co., SW Wis., rises c.5 mi/8 km NW of Viroqua, flows SW to the Mississippi, nearly opposite Minn.-Iowa line, 20 mi/32 km S of La Crosse. Near its mouth Black Hawk was defeated in 1832. |
