El Tepozteco National Park
 
 
El Tepozteco National Park (el te-poz-TE-ko), a natl. park (60,000 acres/24,282 ha), in SW Morelos, Mexico, 20 mi/32 km SE of Mexico city. The terrain is volcanic basalt ridges covered in places by pine and oak trees. This area was favored by the Tlahuica Indians who built the Tepozeco Pyramid which can be seen here. It is accessible from México Route 115-D, near the village of Tepoztlán.
