Caney River
 
 
Caney River (KAIN-ee), c.165 mi/266 km long, in Kansas and Okla.; rises in SE Kansas; flows S and SE into Osage co. in Okla., past Bartlesville, to Verdigris R., just NE of Tulsa. Hulah Dam (94 ft/29 m high, 6,315 ft/1,925 m long, including dikes; begun 1946 for flood control, water supply) is c.13 mi/21 km NNW of Bartlesville; impounds Hulah Reservoir (capacity 295,000 acres-ft.).
