Dallam
 
 
Dallam, county (1,505 sq mi/3,898 sq km; 1990 pop. 5,461), extreme N Texas; Dalhart; 36°17'N 102°35'W. Elev. 3,800 ft/1,158 m–4,700 ft/1,433 m. In high, treeless, wheat and cattle plains of the Panhandle, on Okla. (N) and N.Mex. (W) lines. Drained by Carrizo, Rita Blanca, and Coldwater creeks. Highly irrigated area, cattle; sorghum, wheat, pinto beans. Part of Rita Bleanca Natl. Grassland in N 1/2 of co. Formed 1876.
