| Brantley Reservoir (13 sq mi/34 sq km), Eddy co., SE N.Mex., on Pecos R., 10 mi/16 km NW of Carlsbad; 32°35'N 104°20'W. Max. capacity 966,300 acre-ft. Formed by Brantley Dam (103 ft/31 m high), built (1988) by the Bureau of Reclamation for flood control; also used for irrigation and recreation. Brantley Lake State Park at S end of reservoir. |
