G.W. Andrews, Lake, reservoir (2 sq mi/5.2 sq km), extreme SE Ala. and partly on Ga. border, on Chattahoochee R., 18 mi/29 km NW of Dothan; 31°16'N 85°07'W. Max. capacity 18,180 acre-ft. Extends N into Houston and Henry cos. on W shore (Ala.) and Early and Clay cos. on E shore (Ga.). Formed by George W. Andrews Lock and Dam (59 ft/18 m high), built (1964) by Army Corps of Engineers for navigation. Dam also known as George W. Andrews L. Dam.
