| Foss Lake, reservoir, 10 mi/16 km long, Custer co., W Okla., on Washita R., 13 mi/21 km WNW of Clinton; 35°33'N 99°08'W. Max. capacity 817,000 acre-ft. Formed by Foss Dam (128 ft/39 m high), built (1961) by the U.S. govt. for flood control and water supply. Foss State park at dam (SE); NW sect. in Washita Natl. Wildlife Refuge. |
