Flushing Bay
 
 
Flushing Bay, shallow inlet of East R., SE N.Y., in NW shore of L.I., in Queens borough of N.Y. city, bet. Corona (W) and Flushing and Col. Point (E); c.1 mi/1.6 km wide at entrance, 2 mi/3.2 km long; 40°47'N 73°52'W. On W shore is N.Y. city municipal airport (La Guardia Field); on S shore is Flushing Meadow Park, scene of 1939–1940 and 1964–1965 World’s Fairs, and later the temporary home of the UN.
