Grand Forks, county (1,439 sq mi/3,727 sq km; 1990 pop. 70,683), E N.Dak.; Grand Forks, in Red R. Valley; 47°55'N 97°27'W. Bordered E by Red R. of the North (Minn. boundary), watered by Goose, Forest, and Turtle rivers. Agr. produce (wheat, barley, mustard, potatoes, sugar beets; cattle, hogs); mfg. at Grand Forks. Formed 1873. Grand Forks Air Force Base and Turtle River State Park near center.
