Divide, county (1,294 sq mi/3,351 sq km; 1990 pop. 2,899), extreme NW N.Dak., borders Sask., Canada, on N and Mont. on W; Crosby; 48°48'N 103°29'W. Hilly area watered by small creeks and lakes, drained by Long Creek in N. Lignite mines; farming, cattle, wheat, barley. Includes Writing Rock State Historic Site in SW. Mountain/Central time zone boundary on W. Formed 1910.
