Crocheron
 
 
Crocheron (KRO-she-ron), fishing village, Dorchester co., E Md., on Fishing Bay and Tedious Creek, 23 mi/37 km S of Cambridge. Packs oysters, crabs. Named after Nathan Crocheron, who settled here in the mid–19th cent. Many of its residents previously lived on Holland and Bloodsworth Isls. in the Bay. They settled here when subsiding land on the isls. endangered (and sometimes destroyed) their houses.
