Zacharias
[Gr. from Heb. Zechariah] or Zachary [Eng. from Heb.]. 1 Priest to whom an angel appeared and foretold the birth of his son, John the Baptist. Luke 1.580. He and Elizabeth, his wife, are saints of the Roman Catholic Church; their feast day is Nov. 5. 2 Martyr prophet, the same as Zechariah 2. 3 Book of the Old Testament, often called Zechariah.
