Established in 1911 as a residential high school, it became a junior college at the Univ. of Saskatchewan in 1925, a second campus of that university in 1961, and an independent institution in 1974. It has faculties of arts, fine arts, education, engineering, science, social work, and physical education as well as language and research institutes and schools of human justice and of journalism.
