(yän dä´v ts n d h m) (KEY) , 160684, Dutch painter of fruit and flower pieces. He studied with his father, David de Heem, and became one of Hollands foremost still-life painters. His paintings are found in many leading European museums; the Metropolitan Museum possesses three examples. His son and pupil, Cornelis de Heem (k r´n ´´l s) (KEY) , c.16311695, painted works that were often confused with his fathers. |
