Field, Rachel
 
 
1894–1942, American writer, b. New York City, educated at Radcliffe. Her books for children include The Cross-Stitch Heart and Other One-Act Plays (1927), Hitty: Her First Hundred Years (1929), and Calico Bush (1931). She also wrote several adult novels of which All This and Heaven Too (1938) and And Now Tomorrow (1942) were made into successful motion pictures.
