(p´tr kôrn´ls bou´tns) (KEY) , 1870–1943, Dutch poet. His Verzen (1898) won him early praise. His impressionistic and mystical lyric verse was marked by rhythmic freedom. Boutens made extensive translations, particularly from Greek.
