QUOTATION:Perhaps our greatest responsiblity is to repledge our continuing devotion to perpetuating a legacy of language in an age when the spoken word is suspected as “a glib and oily art,” manipulative doublespeak; when the written word—badly written, of course—is unread; and when “vibrations” are alleged to be, not inarticulate throbbing, but true communication where every sentence begins with “I feel” and ends with “you know.”
