| NOUN: | 1. A slight amount or indication: breath, dash, ghost, hair, hint, intimation, semblance, shade, shadow, soupçon, streak, suggestion, suspicion, taste, touch, trace, whiff, whisper. Informal : whisker. See BIG, SHOW. 2. The degree of vividness of a color, as when modified by the addition of black or white pigment: gradation, hue, shade, tint. See COLORS. 3. A shade of a color, especially a pale or delicate variation: cast, hue, tint, tone. See COLORS.
