NOUN:1. Something worked out to explain, resolve, or provide a method for dealing with and settling a problem: answer, solution. Mathematics : result. See ASK. 2. A position reached after consideration: conclusion, decision, resolution. See DECIDE. 3. Unwavering firmness of character, action, or will: decidedness, decision, decisiveness, firmness, purpose, purposefulness, resoluteness, resolution, resolve, toughness, will, willpower. See CERTAIN, STRONG. 4. An authoritative or official decision, especially one made by a court: decree, edict, judgment, pronouncement, ruling. See LAW.
