NOUN:1. A part of the earth's surface: area, belt, district, locality, neighborhood, region, tract, zone. Informal : neck of the woods. See TERRITORY. 2. A rather small part of a geographic unit considered in regard to its inhabitants or distinctive characteristics. Often uppercase: area, district, neighborhood. See TERRITORY. 3. One of four equal parts of something: quartern. See PART.
VERB:To provide with often temporary lodging: accommodate, bed (down), berth, bestow, billet, board, bunk1, domicile, harbor, house, lodge, put up, room. See PROTECTION.
