NOUN:1. An easily accomplished task: child's play, cinch, pushover, walkaway, walkover. Informal : breeze. Slang : duck soup. See EASY. 2. A sudden motion, such as a pull: jerk, lurch, tug, twitch, wrench, yank. See MOVE, PUSH. 3. A sudden sharp, explosive noise: bang, bark, clap, crack, explosion, pop1, rat-a-tat-tat, report. See SOUNDS. 4. A light, sharp noise: clack, click. See SOUNDS. 5. Informal. A quality of active mental and physical forcefulness: dash, punch, starch, verve, vigor, vigorousness, vim, vitality. Idioms: vim and vigor. See ACTION, TIRED.
VERB:1. To give way mentally and emotionally: break (down), collapse, crack. Informal : crack up, fold. See EXPLOSION. 2. To make a sudden sharp, explosive noise: bang, bark, clap, crack, pop1. See SOUNDS. 3. To move or cause to move with a sudden abrupt motion: jerk, lurch, twitch, wrench, yank. See MOVE, PUSH. 4.
