NOUN:1. The part or area farthest from the front: back, rearward. See PRECEDE. 2. Informal. The part of one's back on which one rests in sitting: buttock (used in plural), derrière, posterior, rump, seat. Informal : backside, behind, bottom. Slang : bun (used in plural), fanny, tush. Chiefly British : bum2. See OVER. 3. The hindmost part of something: end, tag end, tail, tail end. See PRECEDE.
