NOUN:Slang. The act or crime of taking another's property unlawfully and by force: holdup, robbery. Slang : stickup. See CRIMES, GIVE.
VERB:1. Slang. To take property or possessions from (a person or company, for example) unlawfully and usually forcibly: hold up, rob, stick up. Slang : knock off. See CRIMES, GIVE. 2. Slang. To take (another's property) without permission: filch, pilfer, purloin, snatch, steal, thieve. Informal : lift, swipe. Slang : cop, hook, nip1, pinch, rip off, snitch.
