ADJECTIVE:1. Informal. Affectedly or extravagantly emotional: bathetic, gushy, maudlin, mawkish, romantic, sentimental, slushy, sobby, soft, soppy. Informal : gooey, schmaltzy, sloppy, soupy. Slang : drippy, sappy, tear-jerking. See FEELINGS. 2. Yielding easily to pressure or weight; not firm: pappy1, pulpous, pulpy, quaggy, soft, spongy, squashy, squishy, yielding. See RESIST.
