VERB:1. To move (one's arms or wings, for example) up and down: beat, flap, flop, flutter, waggle, wave. See REPETITION. 2. To move quickly, lightly, and irregularly like a bird in flight: flicker, flit, flutter, hover. See REPETITION. 3. To move through the air with or as if with wings: flap, flit, flutter, fly, sail, wing. See MOVE.
