NOUN:1. A slight amount or indication: breath, dash, ghost, hair, hint, intimation, semblance, shade, shadow, soupçon, streak, suggestion, suspicion, taste, tinge, touch, whiff, whisper. Informal : whisker. See BIG, SHOW. 2. A mark or remnant that indicates the former presence of something: relic, remains, vestige. See LEFTOVER, MARKS. 3. A visible sign or mark of the passage of someone or something: print, track, trail. See MARKS.
VERB:1. To pursue and locate: hunt down, nose out, run down, track down. Idioms: run to earth (or ground) . See GET. 2. To follow the traces or scent of, as in hunting: track, trail. See MARKS, SEEK.
