Acting or happening without apparent forethought, prompting, or planning: automatic, impulsive, instinctive, involuntary, reflex, unpremeditated. See PLANNED. 3. Done by one's own choice: free, uncompelled, unforced, volitional, voluntary, willful. See WILLING.
