NOUN:1. A loss sustained in the accomplishment of or as the result of something: cost, expense, price, toll1. See TRANSACTIONS. 2. One or more living creatures slain and offered to a deity as part of a religious rite: hecatomb, immolation, offering, victim. See RELIGION.
VERB:To offer as a sacrifice: immolate, victimize. See GIVE, RELIGION.
