NOUN:Informal. An unsightly object: mess, monstrosity, ugliness. Informal : fright, sight. See BEAUTIFUL.
ADJECTIVE:1. Having or showing a bad temper: bad-tempered, cantankerous, crabbed, cranky, cross, disagreeable, fretful, grouchy, grumpy, ill-tempered, irascible, irritable, nasty, peevish, petulant, querulous, snappish, snappy, surly, testy, waspish. Informal : crabby, mean2. Idioms: out of sorts. See ATTITUDE. 2. Extremely unpleasant to the senses or feelings: atrocious, disgusting, foul, horrid, nasty, nauseating, offensive, repellent, repulsive, revolting, sickening, unwholesome, vile. See LIKE, PAIN. 3. Violently disturbed or agitated, as by storms: dirty, heavy, raging, roiled, roily, rough, rugged, stormy, tempestuous, tumultuous, turbulent, violent, wild. See CALM. 4. Extremely displeasing to the eye: hideous, ill-favored, unsightly. Idioms: ugly as sin. See BEAUTIFUL.
