Lacking rational direction or purpose: meaningless, mindless, pointless, purposeless. Idioms: without rhyme or reason. See PURPOSE. 3. Lacking consciousness: cold, insensible, unconscious. Idioms: out cold, out like a light. See AWARENESS.
