NOUN:1. One who works or toils tirelessly: drudge, grub, plodder, slave. Informal : grind, workhorse. See WORK. 2. Chiefly British. Physical exertion that is usually difficult and exhausting: drudgery, labor, moil, toil, travail, work. Informal : sweat. Idioms: sweat of one's brow. See WORK.
VERB:1. To make extremely tired. Also used with out: exhaust, tire out, wear out. Informal : knock out, tucker (out). Slang : do in, poop1 (out). Idioms: run ragged, take it out of. See TIRED. 2. To exert one's mental or physical powers, usually under difficulty and to the point of exhaustion: drive, labor, moil, strain1, strive, sweat, toil, travail, tug, work.
