Violent forcible contact between two or more things: bump, collision, concussion, crash, impact, jar, jolt, percussion, shock1. See CONFLICT. 4. A wrecking of a vehicle: crash, smashup, wreck. Informal : crackup, pileup. See HELP. 5. Informal. A dazzling, often sudden instance of success: hit, sleeper. Informal : smash hit, ten-strike, wow. Slang : boff, boffo, boffola. See THRIVE. 6.
