People of the highest social level: aristocracy, blue blood, crème de la crème, elite, flower, gentility, gentry, nobility, patriciate, quality, upper class, who's who. Informal : upper crust. See OVER. 4. A group of people united in a relationship and having some interest, activity, or purpose in common: association, club, confederation, congress, federation, fellowship, fraternity, guild, league, order, organization, sorority, union.
