ADJECTIVE:1. Lacking physical feeling or sensitivity: asleep, dead, insensible, numb, unfeeling. See AWARENESS. 2. Lacking responsiveness or alertness: benumbed, dull, insensible, numb, stuporous, torpid, unresponsive, wooden. See AWARENESS. 3. Lacking passion and emotion: anesthetic, bloodless, dull, insensate, insensible. See ATTITUDE, FEELINGS. 4. Not capable of being affected or impressed: impassible, impassive, insusceptible, unimpressionable, unsusceptible. See AFFECT.
