NOUN:An act or thought that unintentionally deviates from what is correct, right, or true: erratum, error, inaccuracy, incorrectness, lapse, miscue, misstep, slip, slip-up, trip. See CORRECT.
VERB:1. To take (one thing) mistakenly for another: confound, confuse, mix up. See CORRECT. 2. To make an error or mistake: err, miscue, slip, slip up, stumble, trip up. See CORRECT. 3. To understand incorrectly: misapprehend, misconceive, misconstrue, misinterpret, misread, misunderstand. See UNDERSTAND.
