Both a and b from yab(< *waaba), to sit, dwell. 2. marchpane, marzipan, perhaps from Arabic mawabn, king on the throne, Byzantine coin with enthroned Christ figure, perhaps from Aramaic mawtb, mawtbn, seat, throne, from yteb (< *waiba), to sit.
