ADJECTIVE:1a. Running or flowing in an outward direction. b. Marked by an outward flow of current. 2. Botany a. Having a single, undivided trunk with lateral branches, as in spruce trees. b. Extending beyond the apex of a leaf, as a midrib or vein.
ETYMOLOGY:Latin excurrns, excurrent-, present participle of excurrere, to run out. See excursion.
