Skinner, B. F.
An American psychologist of the twentieth century who stressed the similarities between human and animal learning processes. To measure learning, Skinner devised a box (the Skinner box) in which an animal learns to press a lever to get food or water. (See alsobehaviorismandconditioned response.)
